It is also Profim's new norm in the furniture development and production. Versatile and robust, it was designed in accordance with the principles of circular economy.
The collection was created, in the spirit of responsible design, by Maja Ganszyniec.
1. We use waste instead of virgin materials. The entire seat and backrest construction is made from recycled plastic. We replaced plywood with recycled polypropylene post-industrial waste.
2. We produce locally to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We do not import components from other countries or continents and do not use air or water transportation.
3. We have given up chromium, which is toxic to the environment and to humans. Instead, we developed a new metallic lacquer that meets strict environmental standards.
4. We use minimal quantity of foam on the seat and backrest, and there is no glue or staples in the manufacturing process. This allows us to easily separate the clean foam from the structure and return it for processing, while protecting our factory crew from exposure to chemicals.
All of these is done to maximise the reuse of already existing materials and minimise environmental impact. At the price of an average conference chair.
"The chair’s aesthetic is rooted in the past, in the simple school chair. The innovative circular design paves the way for a more sustainable future," explains the designer.
The combination of Maja’s Ganszyniec design sensitivity with Profim's technological know-how made it possible not only to create an exceptional product, but also to set new standards for responsible production. Hence the name "Normo", stands for the new, circular norms of the Profim brand.
All these comes at the price of an average conference chair.
